Newbie - Snort missing "Categories/Rules" tab

Hi Guys,

I'm using 2.01 and downloaded Snort package today, 22nd June. Tabs all looked ok and I see it showing as started. But according to the screenshots online I'm missing a tab which allows me to select rules to apply.

I've no idea what is being applied… have I missed something?

You need to download the rules from the updates tab.

Then on snort interfaces tab to the far right you need to click the edit/add button to your wan interfaces.
Once you do this you will see the cat & rules tab within the interface tab any time you edit the interface.

Sorry, just another quick question … is there anywhere in the GUI where I can enter my own rules?
