      Hello,

I need to enable sound on a PF sense box. This is what I'm using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816101364

Note that it has no sound onboard. Because we needed S/PDIF out for this application (IP based Wheatstone Radio blade setup) We purchased this: HA INFO U2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/HA-INFO-U2-24bit-96k-USB-to-SPDIF-TOSLINK-SPDIF-Converter-For-DAC-dts-AC3-/300729861410?pt=US_Sound_Card_External&hash=item4604e58522#ht_2583wt_1140

Currently the machine is running ubuntu with PF sense in a virtualbox VM, which is less than ideal. The S/PDIF interface works fine in linux, and if you read the description, apparently it doesn't need a driver on any OS. The application is a python script that runs radio automation over MPD, so it will work in freebsd

Essentially, I'm wondering what I need to do to get this working in PF sense so we can run off one efficient platform.

      • Can I run a stable version of the development build that has all of freeBSD in it?

      • What do I need to enable audio functionality?

      • How can I get ports and pkg_add working in the dev build?

      • Does such a dev build exist? Where can I find it?

      Thanks for any advise/guidance.

      Thomas
