I'm setting up multiple public IP addresses on the WAN interface.

I'm setting up a different VHID for each IP address, is this right?

      One more question:

I get in my system log the errors

      May 26 15:18:10  kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.206 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:09 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.208 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:08 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.196 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:07 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.204 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:06 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.203 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:05 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.200 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:04 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.195 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:03 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.199 (!AF_LINK)
      May 26 15:18:02 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 1xx.116.164.202 (!AF_LINK)

One for each configured CARP interface. I configured several CARP interface because I need to manage several public ip address.

I read on the post http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,831.msg4960.html#msg4960 that this is only a cosmetic problem, is still a cosmetic problem? (the post is 1 year old)

        It is still cosmetic.

There's really not much to the VHID numbering other than making them unique.  This is not something that you'll ever need to change or inspect once it's set up.
