      Hello group,

We have recently installed a nice fresh pfsense 2.0.1-RELEASE. This is a test to use PFsense as a IDS using snort. Our initial testing has been very positive and things have been working great.

The issue is we will be moving the test into production and the install will be done over iLo (remote console) and the box that this will be installed on will have no access to the internet. There will be no PROXY of any kind. The only internet it will see is a interface will be looking at ALL traffic on our Router on the WAN NIC (promiscuous)  and it will have a private IP on the LAN.

I have tried SCP'ing all the packages from files.pfsense.org to the box, the install works but the necessary GUI menu items are not installed via this method.

Is there a way to tunnel over SSH or manually SCP all the packages to make this process work so I have the exact same result if using the packages tool from the UI?

      Thanks,

      Lee

There isn't a way to install them manually over SSH.

You could clone the package repo and setup your own local copy (check the doc wiki) and install them from a local server instead.
