DHCP Release Incomplete (Status: Interfaces)
-
Releasing the WAN IP address seems to be incomplete. Although pfSense Web GUI indicates that it has released the IP address from it's perspective, a command/request is never sent to the DHCP server for it to release the IP address.
When releasing a DHCP IP address, shouldn't the client send a command/request to the DHCP server to also release the address?

This is not mandatory in the DHCP spec, but would be nice if gracefully surrendering your IP address.
This is the same in 2.0.1 though.
Don't know if the dhclient support this. -
Apparently the FreeBSD dhclient, that is used in pfSense, does not support that behavior. The ISC implementation does support it.
