Anyone have success developing methods for installing pfSense remotely, specifically into a datacenter where there is no physical access to the server? I am wanting to spin up a Rackspace Cloud instance with pfSense, and route all VPN traffic through this instance to my other cloud servers.

I do have access to rescue mode with Rackspace Cloud, and was wondering if I could somehow burn a pfSense image to the hard drive while in rescue mode, and then boot back into pfSense. Problem is, I don't have anyway of responding to prompts before the box boots, so I'd need to complete items like configuring interfaces in a different fashion.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Haven't seen any solutions when Googling and searching this forum, but just thought I would ask anyway.

So your wanting to reinstall your cloud hosted virtual machine with an instance of pfsense? I believe they you can FreeBSD on the RS cloud, you could install freebsd9 and maybe lay pfsense on top of that perhaps.

Almost impossible to do this. Certainly that would be impractical.
There is too greater difference between pfSense and FreeBSD to simply lay in on top.
