I live off site of my school, so I would like to set up an IPSec connection to my school if this is possible. I currently use the Cisco VPN client to connect using Group Authentication over UDP. How would I go about setting this up in pfSense? If possible, I would like to only direct traffic through the VPN when it needs to (accessing file system at school, SSH to school NIC cluster, etc).

Currently we don't support being an xauth client in the GUI. I'm not sure if racoon supports that or not…

It can be an xauth server, just not a client. So getting that to work isn't likely to happen, at least not any time soon.

Thank you for the information. I know that I just recently switched to using the Cisco client and that the school still supports some other VPN type (I think PPTP). Would this be possible with another VPN type such as PPTP?

No, PPTP isn't capable (yet) in our GUI of acting like a site-to-site VPN.
