      Hello to everyone,

I have a pfsense box and I want two different LAN interfaces to have the same exact configuration such as IP address, VLANs etc. The reason for this is that sometimes the status of LAN1 becomes down so I want the LAN machines (which include different VLANs) to use the LAN2 port as the DG in order to have the maximum availability. Is this possible with PFSENSE and if yes how can I achieve it?

      Best Regards.

why does the lan port go down ? you should probably find out why this occurs instead of using complex setups

in any case, what you want might be possible with LAGG & a managed L2+ switch

Thanks for your answer. Does PFSENSE support Link Aggregation Protocol?
