CARP state sync not functioning

Same config as 2.0.1-release with it working, four 1GbE interfaces in a lagg w/ VLANs.  CARP i/f is lagg0_vlan30, 10.54.30.1 master 10.54.30.2 slave.  XMLRPC sync working fine, but states aren't making it from master->slave.

Both FWs have a fw rule on the carp i/f to allow any proto.  I've tried the default of no pfsync synchro IP and defining on both as the CARP IP of the other member.

Anything else I could try?  I'm expecting that they'd both sync existing states eventually, but maybe I'm remembering how pfsync works incorrectly.
