[SOLVED] Snapshot Sept 14, nanobsd_vga, WebUI bug?
-
Hi All,
Running pfSense-2.1-BETA0-4g-i386-nanobsd_vga-20120914-1238.img.gz on a 8GB CF. Pentium III, w/IDE to CF adapter.
I'm getting an odd cosmetic bug that affecting functionality. The new Acknowledge All notification is shifting the burgundy bar down, and also it is disallowing the acknowledgement to be made. Screenshot is attached.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
Also, is there a way to manually send the acknowledgement to get rid of the message to see if I the misalignment goes away?
Thanks,
Jason

Hi "cmb"
I'm using Firefox 15.0.1 on Windows 7 Pro x86_64
Immediately after clearing /tmp/notices it still had the offset bar, but doing a CTRL+F5 or Shift-Click+Reload seems to have fixed it…have to get another notice up to see if causes it again...
Thanks,

I had the browser bar thing happen to me when installlig a nanobsd system on about 3 Sep 2012. But I didn't notice the acknowledge bar issue. The pfSense system name displayed correctly in the top right corner, but the menu strip was as shown in the OP's screenshot.
Using Firefox 10.0.7ESR.
At the time, I had tabs open to other pfSense 2.1 nanobsd systems with recent 2.1 builds which did not have the issue. At the time, I looked at the Github changes between the versions and couldn't see anything remotely likely to cause this. The next day or so the issue went away, but in that time there were: firmware upgrade, reboots, browser restarts… So when I noticed it was "fixed" it was hard to say what the "fix" was.
I haven't seen it happen again - making it diffficult to track down and eliminate the underlying cause!
Anyway, the OP is not the only one to see this. -
When you're changing around versions you're accessing on the same IP address, it's very common for your browser's cache to hose things in ways that are similar to the screenshot shown here (amongst other possibilities), that's my guess as to why since it's not replicable.

It's possible. I do clear out my cache quite regularly, but I can't remember if I had done so in between the last test of the install on the 4G CF & this one on the 8GB. But I had definitely done the force refresh a few times and it still had it. However, I do believe that this is the likely prognosis.
Thanks,
JasonUpdate: I can lend further credence to Chris' statement. I copied the notices from another system that is have CARP sync errors (second device is detached presently) and it didn't cause the cosmetic issue and I was able to clear selected or all notices without issue right from the WebUI. Thanks for highlighting the importance of clearing the cache with these WebUI anomalies
