How about a console lock option that requires one of the pfSense user credentials to unlock?

      Default state after boot: Locked

Cool, thanks, didn't notice that before.  :-[

This spawns two more questions for me though.

          1. How about clearing the screen upon locking console so that any potentially sensitive info is not visible.

          2. Loosly related; When logging in with a user created account, other than the system admin or root account, a FreeBSD shell is presented instead of the pfSense commands screen.

Best can tell from web GUI System: User Manager, it is configure same as the system admin account.

          Defined by SYSTEM
          Username admin
          Member of admins
          Effective Privileges
admins WebCfg - All pages Allow access to all pages
User - System - Shell account access Indicates whether the user is able to login for example via SSH.

          Defined by USER
          Username xyz
          Member of admins
          Effective Privileges
admins WebCfg - All pages Allow access to all pages
User - System - Shell account access Indicates whether the user is able to login for example via SSH.

Shell users do not work like GUI users. We don't yet have a way to safely give them the same permissions as the admin user. We don't display the menu because it will not work properly for them.
