Because of the way bridging works, and the capabilities of our squid package, transparent proxying with bridged interfaces isn't possible at this time.

has this capability been enabled since the stable release of 1.2? I spent several hours last night trying to get  transparent firewall to work with transparent proxy. There used to be a different tutorial from pfsense in transparent/bridged mode. If you setup the nonat feature for all ports except the port for the squid proxy would that in theory work. Meanning you would actually redirect traffic going through the firewall to port 3128 if the destination is 80 and then do the same on the way back. This capability would be nice because it would allow a zero client/infrastructure configuration. Anyone up to the task I can put a bounty on this

I only have the backend code which has to be applied to the firewall at every reboot. I dont write interface gui code. But I can walk a coder to what needs to be done in the gui to make it work with the backend. Until someone is willing to do ti its not worth my time and effort to do so.
