PPTP Connections [resolved-pfsense limitation. Many clients to 1 PPTP Svr=No]
-
Hello.
I'm experiencing a problem with computers behind the pfsense firewall that are connecting to PPTP accounts on another network. Sometimes they are able to connect and at other times they can't.
I've done a trace and see they are making the connection to other network. see attached.
I've also talked with technician their end and they have said we should be able to connect without any problems. The issue is on our end and before the back and forth thing starts…Are there any known problems that would prevent two or more computers behind pfsense from using individual PPTP accounts at the same time establishing a connection through pfsense 2.1?
THanks, Jits

Hi Guys..
I'm using another ISP connection with no pfsense router and I can connect to PPTP accounts no problem.
Is this an ongoing issue, or perhaps a setting in pfsense to enable or disable?
Thanks, Jits
Is Bug #2663 related to my problem?

1. Stop using PPTP immediately. See the warning here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,54255.0.html
2. If you chose to ignore #1, see the PPTP limitations shown here: http://www.pfsense.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=43

Hi Jimp.
Bumped into both advisories Friday, last week and immediately notified and linked our partners to same. We're no longer using PPTP.
At some point, I'm assuming PPTP won't even be an option in Pfsense?
Thanks yr assist.
Jits.

Eventually, perhaps, but there are a lot of people out there that still insist on using it despite its shortcomings.
There is a big red warning in the next version of pfSense warning people off of it.
