Chance I could get Buffalo Airstation WLI-U2-KG125S (wifi USB dongle) to work?

I have an old compaq laptop with two PCMCIA NICs already using both slots and I'd like to add a wireless Buffalo Airstation WLI-U2-KG125S (wifi USB dongle).
Without any haxoring it doesn't appear to be detected… Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The idea of the dongle has grown on me too because I plan to extend range slightly via a DIY project http://www.usbwifi.orcon.net.nz/
