      It seems that package system could use some love, re-organizing package categories and assigning each package to the most appropriate category. E.g. OpenBGP is currently listed under category "NET" whereas OpenOSPF/QuaggaOSPF are listed under "Routing"

      Does one only need to edit the pkg_config*xml files (https://github.com/bsdperimeter/pfsense-packages) or are there others ?

        The categories are only taken from there for the main package list.

        I don't recall though if the column in the Installed Packages list comes from that data or from the package's .xml file.
