Duplicate DHCP Lease?

  • I was going through the system log, and I came across this many times:

dhcpd: uid lease 192.168.1.188 for client 00:25:f6:01:8e:xx is duplicate on 192.168.1.0/24

I looked it up, and the MAC address is the Nettalk voip adapter. It was always a bit unstable, so in an attempt to stabilize it, I gave it a static lease of 192.168.1.101. If I try to access the Nettalk's built-in web server, I can access it at 101, but not 188. I have no idea whatsoever where 192.168.1.188 came from.

    Anyone know what this means?

    Thanks!

  • Perhaps you have multiple DHCP servers on your network.

Perhaps you have another system with IP address 192.168.1.188
