I performed a backup of my 2.0.1 x64 box last evening, performed a fresh installation to a new hard drive on the same machine, then restored the backup. I noticed that I am receiving an "Unable to check for updates" on the status page, so I went to check the firmware auto-updater settings. Much to my surprise, the drop-down to select the location/architecture is completely missing.

Additionally, when I click on the Updater Settings tab, there is a very long pause before anything is displayed.

Aside from this issue, everything seems to be working perfectly fine.

My 2.1-BETA1 test system that I just updated to Wed Dec 19 19:49:15 EST 2012 has exactly the same thing - a long pause then the usual dropdown is missing. I guess that the dropdown is built by looking for various things on the www that must be missing at the moment, the long pause would be waiting for timeouts trying to check the various possible download versions/locations.

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."

Bingo, I believe you're correct - thanks. Your post prompted me to check my datacenter pfSense boxes and they are exhibiting the same behavior. Hopefully this will be sorted soon, although for me it's relatively minor.

I'm just glad to know that something with my restore didn't go awry. I was worried that other little issues might start cropping up.

These are where the code is looking for the list of options. Neither of these are responding for me just now.

Not sure what's up there, that DNS entry is currently pointed at our mirror in .nl but it appears to not be responding. I'll check on it.

The server in .nl is back up, there was an AC issue at the colo and that box didn't get powered back on. Should be OK now.
