has anyone tried the Intel® PRO/100+ Dual Port Server Adapter?

The FreeBSD hardware compatibility list only specifies Intel® PRO/100+ adapters, not the dual port ones.

      Thanks.

Yep, I've got one too. I'm having a problem with one port, but I'm confident it's an issue with the card (it's old).

I have two card with quad intel pro 100/S … so, 8x intel pro 100/S ...

with only one card, no problems ...
with two card (not depending of card IRQ, pci position) the system is unstable ... only under pfsense .... with ipcop no problem ...

EDIT : I have find the problem !!!
It's just because the Quad PCI64 intel pro 100  ... are very, very very hot !!!

that's correct, they get very hot… you should leave at least one slot free between them...
i have 3 3-port nics and it works like a charm, very very very stable...

                  Oh no ! it's not suffisant !!!
the best is to fix small heatsink AND put a fan of 80 or 92mm at 5v …

Wow. Your case must have pretty bad ventilation if you need to go to that extreme. Though I've never used the quad port 100 Mb Intel cards, they may run hotter than the gig ones. I have used the dual and quad port gigabit Intel cards and they don't get all that hot. I don't even have to leave a free slot between them.

Mine is working now. Been for around a week now. Despite excessive heat. Will try to get a temp reading as soon as I get home.
