I've noticed in running pfSense 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 now that the Snort Package does allow for the update log to be shown. Under the Snort service->Updates in the "view update log" field, the "Update Log" button is always greyed out. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Could it be that it is because you enabled the logging to pfsense systemlogs??

But logging is interface specific while rules are global– that wouldn't make any sense?

I don't think it has to do with system logging. I've tried it both with and without logging to the system log and I get the same result. I think there is a bug here.

It is a bug.  The current code is looking for the update log in the wrong place.  Not finding the file where it expects, the code assumes there is no log to view and disables the button.  The log is actually in /tmp/snort_update.log, but the code is looking for /usr/local/etc/snort/snort_update.log instead.

Can we get an updated package for Snort to Pfsense?
