WiFi does not start at boot

Alix 2D13, LAN, WAN, OPT1, WiFi (ath0)When it boots the WiFi does not come up.
If I go to Interfaces_>WiFi and press save (no change to any config) then it comes up.

The WiFi comes up fine.
I know there are a few underlying changes to stuff in this new snap, but I can't see anything in GitHub that is particularly WiFi-related.
Any ideas? -
i tried the latest snap and same issue with me, i have to goto wifi and click save to get it up

In Jan 14 syslog, there is no message about opt2, and no subsequent "ath0" messages.
The code in this commit looks like a problem: https://github.com/bsdperimeter/pfsense/commit/8e9d1265506035ace51a8e94aa9714cca5f38734if (!does_interface_exist($realhwif)) return 0;This is new code, I am guessing that it returns for the opt2/ath0 case (unfortunately!).
I commented out those 2 new lines, rebooted and WiFi (opt2, ath0) starts at boot.
Can someone look at why that code was added and sort it out? -
At boot time, the value of $realhwif is ath0_wlan0
Executing this code shows that this interface name is found after the system is up, but I suspect that it does not exist yet at boot time, until the items at 10, 11 and 12 are created?
