Restore a full backup - doing it wrong or is it broken?
-
Hi
Due to issues with current snaps I wanted to revert to the full backups I always made.
I hit on the restore button, the UI says that's it's going to restore the selected full backup. With top i can see a bsdtar spawning up with very low cpu load, but there is nothing more happening after that, nothing in the sytem log or lighttpd errorr log so far. Any clue if I'm doing / understanding full backup restore the wrong way or if something is not doing as expected?I guess I'll have to get a config.xml backup get an old pre OpenSSL 1.0.1d / broken route snapshot and restore from an ISO…

I have seen this, too. I usually just wait until tar is finished and then manually reboot. After that, I am back on the older version.

Thanks, I didn't want risk booting into a broken system, but it happily bootet back into the restored OS.
Agreedly the user feedback is not optimal at that point (none actually). It doesn't seem to be often used (which is a otherwise good sign of quality) ;-)
Lets see if someone remembers this or I'll make a ticket on redmine.
