      Hi all.

Hope someone may be able to assist me with a recent issue I have been experiencing.

I have a hardware pfSense firewall that I built recently. It works wonders. I use it on my home network. I also use a virtual pfSense firewall that I have running on my ESX server that acts as a firewall/router for all my vNetworks and also provides a tunnel into the vNetworks from my home network.

I have 3389 RDP allowed for everything on the home and virtual pfSense (just to help with the debugging) but every single virtual guest I RDP to drops the RDP connection and states it is 'reconnecting' every minute or so. This takes approx. 20 seconds to reconnect.

I should note that prior to introducing my hardware pfSense, this worked fine, so I'm assuming there is some config I am missing…

I have trawled the forums/web/logs and find nothing out of the ordinary. Does anyone have any ideas?

      Kind regards.

      Tom.

If you have static routes to direct subnets between your firewalls, most likely you need to go to System > Advanced on the Firewall/NAT tab and check "Bypass firewall for traffic on the same interface".

Hmm. May have jumped the gun a little. The issue still seems to occur, albeit less frequently. It now seems quite intermittent in its timings. Any more advice?

            Tom.
