In Apr the Shuttle DS47 should start shipping with a metal and plastic case and an on-board FCBGA1023 Intel Celeron 847 18W CPU (1.1GHz) and NM70 chip set.

      2 x 1333Mhz DDR3 SODIMM slots, 8GB per DIMM (Max 16GB)
mini-PCIE full (convertible to half size and mSATA) and antenna mounting holes
      1 SATA2
      1 SATA3
      1 2.5" HDD/SSD bay
      UEFI bios
      Intel HD2000, DirectX 10/11 OpenGL 3.0/3.1 , Shader 4.1
      HD2.1 channel audio
      2 Gigabit LAN (Wake-On-LAN; PXE)
      4 USB2
      2 USB3
      2 rs232/rs422/rs485
      SD Bootable Card Reader
      190 x 165 x 38 (same size as DS61) or 200 x 165 x 39.5 (I'm not sure, my sources differ)

The ds47 doesn't have a fan, so it might use the cooling design like the ds25:

Can anyone estimate the rough throughput performance of a Celeron 847?

              According to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html it gets a 550 compared to a dc2500 which gets a 291.

Very nice little piece of hardware which isn't supported by pfSense 2.1-RELEASE because of the Realtek RTL8111G network interfaces.

And currently no pfSense 2.2 snapshots which may support it.

Pretty sure it's the 8111G that's not supported by 2.1; I'm running several 8111E interfaces on stock 2.1 without any problems.

The box is working with custom driver for the network card. The full support of the card will be in the next version of FreeBSD:

                            FYI: Fixed in r257304-257306.

I use the box on 4 places, every with 1 WAN and 5 VLAN on LAN, and up to 5 IPSec Tunnels.

I havent made big throughput tests. But I can tell you that I have on the mainsite with the old hardware (soekris 6101 board) around 40%-60% load and with the DS47 under 1% load.

Single direction I had test it with 150Mbit Download.
