Anyone know a good, kinda cheek PCI wifi card that works with pfsense? I have a wifi card i tried that just didnt seem to wanna go, so if anyone could help that would be great :) oh, and a PCI gigabit ethernet card too.

And one last thing, know any good 4 port ethernet controller cards that work good with PFsense?

          http://www.freebsd.org/releases/8.1R/hardware.html

if it works with freebsd 8, it works with pfsense.

There are also cards not in the 8.1 HCL that will work with pfSense. Some drivers have been backported in order to support newer hardware. The most comprehensive and up to date list if wifi cards is here:

I prefer regular APs instead of built-in WiFi cards. No driver issues, no need to buy outdated hardware. And you gain the flexibility to put the pfSense box at a convinient location while the AP goes to the optimum position for RF coverage.

I agree with those listed advantages for external APs but I have found the pfSense reporting and troubleshooting facilities far superior to those on any commodity AP that I have encountered.
