      Hi,

      I have configured FreeRadius in pfSense with MYSQL Database.
      I have added Acct-Interim-Interval := 120 in radgroupreply table. but after restarting RADIUS Server, I am not getting Interim-Update Packets.
      I think my NAS is not capable for that. I am using pfSense Box as my NAS i.e NAS Address is : 127.0.0.1

      Authorization 127.0.0.1 1812
      Accounting 127.0.0.1 1813

      Can anybody please advice me how to know that my NAS is capable for that or not?

      Thanks in advance!

        What do you mean with "my NAS" ?
        Do you mean pfsense CP ? It sends interim updates every 60s by default and if I remember correct on pfsense2.1 you can change the value with the Acct-Interim-Interval.

        If you use CP as NAS then you should set there the NAS IP and configure this IP in freeradius clients. If you enable logging on freeradius2 package then  you wuill get some output on systemlog which could help you.

        Or you run "radiusd -X" on console to get freeradius debug output.

          Thanks for reply…

          Yes I mean pfsense CP. I am adding Acct-Interim-Interval := 120 to radusergroup table but it doesn't work.

          Can you please let me know, what should I have to do?

            Seems to only work on pfsense 2.1:

              Though I am using pfSense 2.1, it's not working .

              My PfSense Version is :

              2.1-BETA1 (amd64)
              built on Sun Mar 17 12:19:11 EDT 2013
              FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p6

                Then you should open a ticket on redmine. I haven't done any tests with acct-interim-interval so I could not tell you if it is working or not.
                Perhaps make sure that your mysql table is correct. Perhaps just do a simple test with the freeradius users file just to make sure that it is really not working and it is not problem with your configuration.

                  I checked by creating new user in freeradius with Acct-Interim-Interval :=600, but it doesn't work..
                  Accounting working fine while i am not setting Acct-Interim-Interval, but I am getting it every minute.
                  But after setting Acct-Interim-Interval, I am getting only Accounting start and stop packets but not interim-update packets.

                      @Mahendra:

                      Please advice me to resolve my Problem.

                      Use the latest pfsense 2.1 snapshot
                      On CP please set accouting to interim-update.
                      On freeradius2 set "Acct-Interim-Interval :=600"

                      If this does not work then there is probably a problem with CP on pfsense 2.1 and you have to open a ticket on redmine:
                      redmine.pfsense.org

                      You can there reference to these commits:
                      https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/commit/338c0941ef9a90d33b02627a320fb642d192b172
                      https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/commit/a689bab69d566424d8ecd9e0fde210ccfc08713d

                      Or you post on the pfsense mailing lists:
                      http://lists.pfsense.org/mailman/listinfo/dev

                      In general this seems to be a pfsense 2.1 problem so the better place to post this would be the "2.1 Snapshot Feedback and Problems" categorie on the forum but sure if this would make sense to post there again.

                        I have checked for PPPoE Server and its working fine, I am getting interim-updates as per Acct-Interim-Interval attribute. But for Captive Portal its not working.
