      MODEM/ROUTER –-> pfsenseWAN_fxp0 ----> pfsenseLAN ---> switch

      when i connect modem/router to WAN i get no carrier on fxp0 interface
      what could be a problem ?

        defective cable, defective fxp0card, broken router, crossover-cable?

          nic and cable works if i plug it to switch. but when i plug it to modemrouter i get no carries. im using straight through cable maybe i need crossover?
