I'm sure several of you may have noticed, at least here in the states, that your ISP may be throttling youtube and other online services.

This comes from hacker news that your traffic is being forced through ISP cache servers.

      Block these two networks:

      • 173.194.55.0/24

      • 206.111.0.0/16

Using pfBlocker you will be able to stop the forced throttling on your network.

On TWC RoadRunner myself.  Setup the firewall rules and I'm seeing pfSense blocking 173.194.55.0/24 when accessing YouTube.  Stream still goes through rather nicely using 720p.  I'll keep this thread updated with my own results after even further testing.

        Thanks for the heads up.
