My pfsense box was working fine but all of the sudden it shutted down. Out of the blues. I went to see the system logs and there was no indication of errors.. I am using 2.1 February.

Did it reboot itself, or actually turn its own power off?

If the power went off and stayed off, usually that was done by the BIOS – most often for an overheating condition.
