How to use public IP in LAN client PC
-
Dear support,
I had just setup a pfsense for replace my draytek router, can you please tell me how can I use the public IP(provided by ISP,e.g.202.131.71.195) in the LAN which behind the pfsene.
Previously I using the draytek it allow me to set public IP directly on the client PC and it is OK to access the internet, but now after using pfsense, it seems not allow to do that. I had tried many setting but still no luck, I had also follow the guideline of pfsense howto, that is disable the manual outbound NAT and delete all the rule in the NAT. But it still not working if I use public IP directly. Please kindly give me a hint how to achieve that.thanks,

If you just going to put the public IP on your PC, what is the point of pfsense? I think your not understanding it use??

You can still use pfSense as a transparent firewall in front of the client. You may need to add another NIC for a management interface. Depends how many public IPs you have to play with.
