No-IP hostname deleted
-
Hi, guys
Today my hostname on No-IP service was deleted. 30 days has passed without updates.
Please change No-IP hosts update algorithm. After 20 days, domain names hosted by No-IP service must be updated regardless of phisical IP changing or not. At the 21st day, No-IP sends a warning message. I ignored it at all, I was thinking update algorithm would update it before 30 days.
The update must be forced, i.e. if IP not changed within this time it must be updated anyway. My IP rarely changes, so Dynamic DNS service has checked it and detected no IP change and did nothing.

I believe someone fixed 2.1 to account for that change already

Hi jimp,
I just read the thread
http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,59231.0
It does some bit of kludge, but does work. It's time to change dynamic DNS providerā¦ Ā ;D
Thanks for quick reply

Yep, I did that code for 2.1 a while ago and it works. To get that feature you can:
- Upgrade to 2.1 then change your Dynamic DNS provider name to "No-IP (free)"; or
- Look at the code in https://github.com/bsdperimeter/pfsense/pull/436 and backport it to your 2.0.n system; or
- as you say, change dynamic DNS provider.
