      Hi guys,

Some body knows or had used the Mikrotik four ports ethernet card for a production or test system ?

      This is the model
      Mikrotik RB44Ge

      Any comment would be appreciated.

      Regards.

Couldn't find its chipset, Atheros AR8131/M, in the FreeBSD 8.1 Hardware Compatibility List

If you're looking for an inexpensive quad then look at the Soekris lan1841.  It should be supported since it uses the Intel 82574 chips.  Be aware though that since it's a single lane of PCI-e that you won't be able to max out all 4 ports at once.  You'll be limited to 2.5Gbit/s in each direction at a time (which is still more than likely far higher than you'll need).

          I can break anything.

Thats more than 600Mbps per port when all of them are maxed in parrallel.

Perfect with an Atom board, wich can do about the same routing speed.

                Thanks a lot ptt.

Did you had to make some kind of "special" configuration on the CLI or pfsense recognize the card since the begining ?

                Thanks again
                Regards

No, nothing special, it is detected without any problem… I just booted from a pendrive with the "pfSense-memstick-2.0.1-RELEASE-amd64.img" written on it  ;)
