I'm running the latest 2.1 snapshot.
I have both mysql and samba installed using pkg_add from the command line.
It would be helpful to have them listed in "Status: Services" GUI page.
Is this possible and if so, where/how to add them?

Use a <service>tag in the config, as packages do.

Look in the package repo code for packages such as squid that add services and see what ends up in your config after installing one of them. then follow the same format for your own services.</service>
