    HI it's me again.

I need to redirect console output to my serial port, so what i did was check the box at Systems > Advanced > Serial Terminal, reboot it .  then i connect from my laptop which has a Serial-to-usb converter, but nothings happen no output.

i connect with putty "COM6" and 9600 bd, i thougth it was my converter so i prove it  with a UTM ahnlab, but it does work.

    What else i can do?

I can't speak to serial to USB converters, but in a serial to serial connection a null modem cable is generally required.

        Hi,

does the serial link work on a other device ?
Did you enable the com port(s) in bios ?

I tried it also with a USB-SERIAL adapter <->Nullmodem cabel  and  with CuteCom it works.

        regards max

How many serial ports do you have on the box? Are you sure you're connected to the right one?

Make sure it's actually a null modem cable you're using, not a Cisco-style console cable.

Cisco cables are rollover cables, not the same as a traditional null modem cable.

Otherwise it's just as simple as plugging in, loading PuTTY or your terminal of choice, and latching onto the correct serial port at 9600/8/n/1
