      Hello everyone,

pfSense doesn't currently let you install with a single NIC. Is there any way around that, even if pfSense doesn't fully support it? There are situations I come across when setting up VPNs that I do not need to use two NICs. Any thoughts appreciated!

      Thanks,
      james

create a VLAN on LAN interface and assign WAN to it and LAN to the real interface.
after that log into the webinterface and create rules that allow you in from WAN.
then swap the interfaces: vlan to LAN and real interface to WAN.

We do what we must, because we can.

          Wow!

I did not know about this feature…

Can you tell about the performance hit (if any) using 1 NIC vs 2 NICs?
