In order to update our pfSense boxes remotely, we connect in via serial console server.
I would love to have the ability to upload the config file via zmodem so when we loose an SSD, CF card or SSD, we can ship a new one to the remote hands and then upload the config when it boots.

Without the ability to upload via zmodem, I basically have to boot the box, manually assign IPs, then drop to the shell and turn off pf so I can access SSH from the 'wan' interface, push the config and reboot.

Why not have a bunch of cards with a generic config that establish a VPN tunnel to your location so that you can configure them remotely more easily?

        I can break anything.

          pkg_add -r lrzsz

Then use lrz to start a zmodem receive.
