I have a seagate usb drive I was using as a storage device on my linksys router and I want to use it on my PFsense now instead. Is that possible and HOW?

        Not easily.
You could mount the drive and then access it via SCP but that's probably not what you meant. It would require some manual hacking.

I had the same question a while ago. I think the best thing to do is set up a diy NAS that connects to a switch. You can use FreeNAS or Nas4free. You will have much more control of a set up like that. You can add multiple drives, use ZFS, etc..
