pfSense does not support N or AC, save yourself all the problems and use a dedicated Access Point.

I went ahead and got these products. The box runs at 68C with no fans or much air circulation since it's up in the top shelf of my closet (probably going to install an exhaust vent that connects to the HVAC air intake lines).

Steady 12% CPU usage with Squid + CalmAV, Avahi, LightSquid.

Sadly to say even to this day the system will not even see the wireless card. So I'm going to remove it. With that free PCI-E slot I'm thinking about doing the following:

Get a Gigabit SPF card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A927700 combine it with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007UR0CZE so we can completely go overkill and use it as our WAN port to the cable modem. Even 1ms latency removed from the link with this setup would be worth it's weight in gold.

If my motherboard had more than 1 PCI-E slot I'd go ahead and throw this in there too: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007GMPZ0A which seems to be supported by FreeBSD (please correct me if I'm wrong).
