      Hi,

I have 2 independent wan connections, and 2 separate PFsense boxes (3 nics each) - I would like to implement some sort of load balancing across the two, what would be the best way to accomplish this? (or a link to a guide would be helpful, I have seen 2 wans on 1 pfsense box and 2 pfsense boxes on 1 wan, but I haven't seen a combination of both anywhere)

I was thinking of creating a "dummy" wan on each of the pfsense boxes and having it be a direct proxy through the other box, but I don't know how the pfsync should be setup for that scenario.

You can't do that with CARP. You need both WANs on both units if you want to use CARP.

If they are actually isolated on the LANs and don't do CARP, then using a dummy interface between them may work fine if they both treat it as a WAN and have appropriate NAT.
