      I am trying to block avi, mp3, mpeg, mpg and exe files automatically and am using it in conjunction with Snort. What I want to do however is to be able to allow specific IPs to be excluded from this rule.

      The Squid acl is simply this;

      .[Ee][Xx][Ee]
      .[Aa][Vv][Ii]

      … and so on.

      I have tried adding various allow src statements with the IP address specfied to it but it still blocks everything. Can someone tell me how to get around this?

      thanks.
