Like,
1. provide fault-tolerant Internet access,
2. provide top class firewalling (including Layer7 filtering),
3. do traffic shaping,
4. monitor network activity,
5. provide VPN tunnels and endpoints,
6. allow guest access via a Captive Portal (vouchers or passcodes).#1 obviously makes sense when multiple ISP (WAN) connections are available.
