What sort of wireless interface - another Virtual AP on a wireless interface currently used by pfSense? A new piece of hardware? If so, what brand, model and revision?

I don't know VMWARE. Have you done any necessary incantations to tell VMWARE to give ownership of the hardware to the pfSense virtual machine? Did you restart the pfSense virtual machine? (depending on the type of wireless interface that might have been necessary.)

What did you try (e.g. "I just plugged the device in and expected everything to be instantly automatically configured correctly")? And what was reported

hi bro, for emulate a wireless card with vmware you has to have a USB WIRELESS device, make the conn with the vmware usb devices interface install the modules and you are ready to go, just for the record, all card that you agree trought vmware will be a networking card (nic, normal interface like eth0, cause the driver that vmware uses, and pci id and other stuff)
