Intel Dual port PCIe card
-
Anyone have any hints on the models to buy for a cheap intel PCIe NIC?
My budget is under $100US
I am on ebay and I see lots of different models, mostly OEM models with varying part numbers.http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?LH_BIN=1&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=intel+dual+port+pcie&_sop=15
My last dual port was a PT adapter but am in need of another one.
I am specifically looking at teaming a dual port and putting it on a LAN interface on a windows vm server where pfsense will connect. (keeping another intel single port for the wan interface to connect to pfsense via vm).
Lots of knowledge here, so thought someone might have some more up to date insight.
Thanks!

I've had no problems with the HP N360T I bought on eBay for about $60.
EDIT: Should be NC360T. Should also add that it's used with VMware ESXi.

You should be able to get them for half that price. Hell, I got mine for 30$ shipped in Canada.

In your part of the world maybe.
Here's a great "offer" just seen on eBay: AU $31.83 +AU $71.47 postage. :o
It would have to be delivered by rocket to justify that shipping cost!
I try to buy local and the supply isn't that great.

If he's specifying USD, I'd sort of expect him to be in the US.

I see the HP is using the 82572GI chipset which is the same as the 82571EB chipset. So basically everyone is saying the PT adapters are still good and do teaming?
I was thinking there might have been some updated chips/performance in the last year since I bought the last adapter. Not that I have any issues with them anyways. Newer just usually means intel releases drivers a bit longer.Tks!

Was purchase of the Intel EXPI9402PT prudent?
$50 shipped

Intel PRO/1000 Pt Dual Port Server Adapter, PCIeit seems to be working but then I have no metric to determine nuanced difficulties

Actually, HP's spec sheet does indicate the 82571EB: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/networking/nc360t/
"Old" and reliable. No real point to get shiny new cards unless it has some (possibly new) function you want.
