      I've been using these inherited Cisco 7940G 7960G phones with SIP firmware but told sccp or chan_sccp will give me more power, better audio, and more soft-touch button control

      Anyone setup this way?  gotchas to be wary of?  or other joys?  Until I had them all on one desk I wouldn't have imagined a wide variety in labeling, mac addresses, or software versions (pre-sip).  More speed bumps?

      I had converted some to SIP to use directly with voip providers (no home pbx/ ip pbx).  Seems peachy, but that was before pfSense – I switched to pfSense to ditch isp SIP ALG
