Can't access a cpanel using https on port 2083
-
Hi I have the following configuration internet–----> cisco------>pfsense 2.03 with squid 2.7, squidguard and lightsquid, and on the firewall rules tab is lan to any rule so there shouldn't be any problems, on wan interface I have no firewall rule, and I can't access https://cpanel:2083
Without the pfsense active there is no problem accessing it .
Please help me out -
You can only use a URL like that (not a FQDN) if the Cisco box is providing DNS. Since your clients are behind pfSense they are not (I assume). You can probably add a DNS overide entry in DNS forwarder. You could access the Cisco box by it's IP address directly.

Edit: Maybe I have misunderstood what cpanel is in this case. :-\

cpanel is the webaccess to the Linux box hosting my email server on the outside and the exact link is https://server20.whmpanels.com:2083/
and yes when i bypass the pfsense proxy I have no problem reaching it, but I was wondering how can I access it using pfsense proxy. the proxy is using public dns server , and inside network has its own dc which provides dns. -
Ah yes I read that too quickly and thought you were trying to get access to the web interface of your Cisco box. :-[
So you can access the cpanel login with the full link but not the shortcut?
I would expect a shortened address like that to work only if the local dns knows about it.Steve
