    Hello,

    I use a Dell Server for PFSense with the following Specifications
    Intel Dual Core 3GHz with 8GB RAM

    When I don't have any firrewall rule it works fine.
    But when I add some rules It crashes 4-5 times a day.

    Can anybody give me a clue?

      @DrPit:

      Can anybody give me a clue?

      Probably not without more information: pfSense build identification, crash report etc

          The crash report looks vaguely familiar to mine from this morning…although I did not need to reload rules to trigger the crash.

            I can see in the crash report:
            ZFS WARNING: Recommended minimum kmem_size is 512MB; expect unstable behavior.
                        Consider tuning vm.kmem_size and vm.kmem_size_max
                        in /boot/loader.conf.

            Could this cause the problem?
            Is it ok to increase the value?
            Where should I increase it, in the /boot/loader.conf or the /boot/loader.conf.local?

            The existing values in /boot/loader.conf are:

            # grep -i kmem_size /boot/loader.conf
            vm.kmem_size="435544320"
            vm.kmem_size_max="535544320"

              Hello,

              it is strange both firewalls work fine with packet filtering disabled. But both crashes after some hours as soon as I enable packet filtering/
              Any clue? I am not able to tset version 2.1 further due to this crash problem.

                Maybe this is related to your problems: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,64144.0.html

                  thank you for your answer,

                  I have followed the recommendation and downgrade the snapshot to 1/7/13.
                  Till now I have no crash but I still have the ftp problem.
                  Almost no ftp traffic passes through the firewall and from times to times I have disconnections.
