Google has already inserted some of the NSA’s programming in Android OS

Google (GOOG) has filed a request with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court asking permission to disclose more information about the government’s data requests. So there’s a certain irony that NSA programmers are now refining code that Google has approved for the company’s mobile operating system, Android. Google spokeswoman Gina Scigliano confirms that the company has already inserted some of the NSA’s programming in Android OS. “All Android code and contributors are publicly available for review at source.android.com,” Scigliano says, declining to comment further.

Article could be propaganda to a certain degree … would have to look at what code the NSA contributed to Google Android system to determine if it could aid the NSA in violating personal user privacy.
By studying the NSA code within Android OS could give you a good hint of where to look within FreeBSD source code .... that is assuming they have succumb to the powers of the NSA's demands also.

“All Android code and contributors are publicly available for review at source.android.com,”
Reminds me of time when a prosecutor subpoenaed for 1 particular document (a single page) and the defendant dumped a 24x24 foot storage room completely filled with boxes of random documents on them.
"Its in there somewhere. We complied with the info request"

I would assume and hope there are concerned programmers which are involved with the Android source code will attempt to hunt down the NSA contributor. They should be highly MOTIVATED in seeing what modified code Google approved to be merged back into the branch and bring some light to the subject for viewers.

The purpose of code is often obscured like pork in an appropriations bill…

I've looked a bit around the web and some are saying they where security improvements to App Sandboxing …....
I'm sure everyone is at ease now ......
But wait ..... If I was a trader of the American people working for the NSA installing mobile remote software without users consent, I would want to make sure my remote software doesn't go Snowden on me :-X

Android should advertise this as a feature. "Application Sand-boxing by NSA - In God we trust, all others we monitor"
It could have some serious good uses for customers.Forgot your password? We have it.
