Latest build - CARP IPV6 issue
-
Hello,
I still have an issue with CARP IPV6
I have 2 firewall
1 LAN
1 WAN
1 opt (communication between FW)OPT has ipv4 and ipv6 everything is pingable. (FW1 -> FW2 -> FW1).
But on the CARP
FW1 is master for everyhting in IPV4 and IPV6
FW2 is slave on IPV4 but also on IPV6I don't think this is normal.
Is this a bug ?Thank you very much

I have a CARP cluster on the latest 2.1 snapshots and the MASTER/BACKUP status is correct for the IPv6 IPs, so it isn't a general issue. It works on real, live hardware and in VMware.

Are the settings the same as in ipv4 ?
I don't understand what is wring as for ipv4 everything is working perfectly ….
??? -
Not sure what you mean by "the same" for that.
I just tested it again in a fresh VM. The IPv6 IP's are xx:2/64 (primary) and xx:3/64 (secondary) and the CARP VIP is xx:1/64. Nothing more to it than that, and it works fine.

yes almost same here and doesn't work
I'm lost

Nailed it
I'm really stupid :'( -
You may yet want to post the specifics of your fix in case others stumble upon the same issue.

I'm ashamed
But
On FW 1 the ipv4 ip was xxx.xxx.xxx.14
the ipv6 ip was xxxxxxx:xxxxxx:xxxxxxx::14On FW 2 the ipv4 ip was xxx.xxx.xxx.13
the ipv6 ip was xxxxxxx:xxxxxx:xxxxxxx::14Yes same ipv6 on both firewall
I'm going to crawl under a tree
