      Hi

I am not so expert, I have setup a server with Vmware application in which I installed Asterisknow and pfsense applications. All configuration are good and we are able to connect IP phone on local network. Now I need some help! How can I allow my VOIP traffic through internet. I want to connect an IP phone from internet.

      Thanks in Advance

How many IP do you have?

Will the phone connecting to you be behind NAT (Will it be one of many devices on a network like 192.168.1.1)?

Is your asterisk server getting its own public IP at the server?

I ask all these questions because I think if you are planning to run an AsteriskNow server for phones outside your network and not using VPN, you will not have good luck.  I expect you to get it to register but either have 1 way audio or no audio at all if Asterisk is behind NAT.

          Thanks you got my point.

I have 5 lives IP pool, one is assigned to pfsense wan port and I have not yet assigned any live IP to Asterisknow server. I also get your point that it good to use VPN service to connect IP phone.

Actually I need know what steps should I have taken to connect my IP phones through internet.
