Captive Portal Replication!

  • It would be interesting to replicate pfsense captive portal active clients to the secondary server, this would avoid unnecessary delay in reauthentication when the primary fail.

  • You might setup the captive portal on a totally separate machine. This assumes that your main pfSense boxes often have outages (not neccassarily pfSense crashes, but maybe ISP failues), and the captive portal machine is stable.

  • Ok, I refer to a scenario where I have two servers in a high performance cluster, the two have a captive portal configured with a freeradius server when the primary goes down, the clients have to re-authenticate in the secondary, would be excellent if also replicated to the secondary server authentication so that clients do not waste time.
