      I've noticed this error (since many months, it's not a new issue) that appears quite often -about half the time- whenever I do a gitsync.

      Starting the pfSense shell system…............

      ===> Checking out RELENG_2_1
      ===> Fetching updates...
      ===> Installing new files...
      ===> Removing FAST-CGI temporary files...
      ===> Upgrading configuration (if needed)...
      ===> Configuring filter...
      ===> Running /etc/rc.php_ini_setup...cat: stdout: Broken pipe
      ===> Locking down the console if needed…
      ===> Signaling PHP and Lighty restart...
      ===> Checkout complete.

      Your system is now sync'd and PHP and Lighty will be restarted in 5 seconds.

      This is on a 256MB VM with no packages other than gitsync itself.

        It's been a really long time…  Has there been any cause or fix identified for this broken pipe when running gitsync?

        i386 VirtualBox VM
        Clean install with no packages other than gitsync.

        Broken pipe every time gitsync.  It's consistent.
